French Canadian Lynn Veronneau and her British husband Ken Avis broadcast The Antidote weekly in Arlington, Virginia - just across the river from the Washington DC capital. The couple met while living and working in Switzerland, before moving to the USA.
Their all-genre music mix leans towards jazz, blues, world and folk....but be prepared for surprises. The Antidote was created as an alternative to the dominant political, news-talk and commercial radio of Washington DC's commute time broadcasts, and often features interviews with national and international musicians as well as featuring the best of the local scene.
Lynn and Ken are full time musicians in the world-jazz group Veronneau. The band tour extensively in the USA, Canada and Europe where they have on more than one occasion interviewed and performed live on BBC radio. Their two CD releases both climbed into the US Top 10 Jazz and World Music charts and they have won 6 WAMMIE Awards including Best Jazz Vocals, Recording and Group from the Washington DC Area Music Association.
They are a recognizable DC music "power-couple" from their activities as performers, broadcasters, music presenters, music journalists and mentors to upcoming regional artists.
